Homework in Year 5

Homework is always sent home on a Friday and should be completed by Thursday of the following week. For ease, all homework is recorded in the school planner.

Each week, children in Year 5 are expected to read their school reading book a minimum of three times. This reading should be recorded in the school planner.

In addition to reading, Year 5 children also have some maths challenges stuck into their planners – these are questions base don themes that the children have already seen and studied earlier in the week.

Children in Year 5 also have spellings – there are spaces in the planner to practise the spellings and write some of the spellings in sentences.
