National Tests

In 2016 a new set of national tests (SATs) were introduced for pupils in Year 2 and Year 6. For Year 2 pupils the tests are used to inform and support teacher assessment - they are both administered and marked by the school. For Year 6 pupils the test results are reported to families in addition to teacher assessment - they are administered by the school but marked externally.

There has been much debate about the level of challenge presented by the new tests, with many professional arguing that they are too challenging for the age of the pupils. We have decided to publish the tests on our website so that families can see exactly what their child is expected to know in order to meet the national standard.
