Caretaker required

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible colleague, who takes a pride in their work, who can join our friendly and supportive team.  The role of caretaker requires a self-motivated, pro-active person to perform a range of duties including:

  • Maintenance of the school site
  • Regular statutory testing of equipment and apparatus
  • Cleaning certain areas of the school, which is at least 50% of the role
  • Handyperson work
  • Locking and, on occasions, unlocking (including for late meetings / lettings which might be outside of normal working hours)
  • Supervision of cleaning staff

Salary: H11 - £7,167 – 7,569 per annum –15 hours per week all year round. (Holidays must be taken out of term time.) We require the Caretaker to work 3 hours per day from 3.45 - 6.45pm. Please note, the job requires additional flexibility of hours in respect of certain annual events e.g. late opening for parents’ evening, holiday lettings and PTA events. Please note that this post is fixed term until 31st December 2018 due to a staff reorganisation nearer the end of the contract.

The caretaker is line managed by our School Business Manager and will take day to day direction from her.
