Learning for Life
Reception and Year 1 children have their own playground, allowing them to explore and play as a small group. Each day there are a range of games and activities set out for them - some of our older children lead games and are fantastic role models. During lunchtimes, Mrs Bishop and Mrs Crew supervise the children and often join in with the fun and games! Over the summer months, the younger children also use the school field for parts of their lunchtime.
Children in Years 2 to 6 use our main playground which has a range of separate areas and activities set up for them. Football and netball are popular sports at Cherry Garden and each day three football and two netball courts are timetabled for different year groups to use. We also have a square ball court set up every day as well as a timber trail. If children want to sit quietly and talk with friends, we have gazebo and several large benches. Our eco-garden and planters have recently been renovated and will soon provide another quiet area for children. Finally, we have a number of art based activities on offer for children during lunchtimes - these usually take place under our rear canopy. During the summer months the children spread out onto our large field to play and explore.
